The rare Yellowstone cutthroat trout is finally making a comeback in the creeks and rivers of Yellowstone National Park. The non-native lake trout nearly wiped out the smaller cutthroat trout population over the last several decades. Efforts have been made to greatly reduce the lake trout population in Yellowstone Lake, giving the cutthroat a chance to re-populate.
