1328F is the collar number for this beautiful gray wolf. She is the Alpha Female for the Eight Mile wolf pack. She was returning to the Blacktail Ponds area after defending her territory against the rival Rescue Creek wolf pack. Moments before the Eight Mile pack was resting on top of the mountain above Blacktail Ponds where a Grizzly Bear had fished a bison carcass out of the frozen pond. The Grizzly was sharing its meal with the wolf pack, they were taking turns. Unexpectedly the Rescue Creek pack came in from the east looking for a meal also. 1328F was not going to share with another wolf pack so she raced down the mountain with her other pack members and chased off the intruders.
