The nest had been in this location for four years when I made this photograph. The earlier location was a few hundred yards down river and in a tree closer to the river and lower in height relative to viewing from the road side. That nesting tree fell over and the Osprey pair picked this new location. This was late summer with the chicks flying but still dependent on both parents for fresh fish two or three times a day. When the chicks are younger the parents pull the fish into small pieces and feed them beak to beak. At this stage of development it’s drop and go with no sharing between the youngsters.
