As I was driving along the Yellowstone River on my way to the north entrance of the park when I noticed a Bald Eagle flying about twenty feet above the river traveling the same direction I was.

I hoped it would continue this route so I could pull over at the next access to get a shot of it flying by. That next pullout is called the LaDuke picknick area. I raced to a stop and grabbed my big lens and camera. Standing at the water’s edge I saw the beautiful raptor still coming my way just above the rapids. The river bends to the left at that point so the Eagle had to bank left to stay above the river.

That is when I got the shot, perfect timing.
