A sure sign of spring, is the arrival of the Mountain bluebird. More brilliant in blue than its cousins the Eastern and Western bluebird, this bird’s shy nature makes them difficult to approach. I noticed several bluebirds land on a particularly tall willow stem near the shores of Yellowstone Lake. I set up my camera and tripod a short distance from that location and waited. This image was produced a few hours and several subjects later.
