These two wolves had been eating on a bison carcass the week before. They had pretty much finished if off before they left. They returned four days later with the rest of the pack and were chewing on the head of the old bison. When the black wolf came in to share, the gray wolf growled and showed her teeth. I have never photographed a wolf fight, as it doesn’t happen that often. When it does it does not last very long, this fight lasted about 2.5 seconds. Notice the position of their tales. It was just a little spat, nothing to lose a head over.
