The Wapiti Lake pack came to attention after a distant howl from the other side of the canyon. The pack had just split into two groups, some of the wolves were moving back and forth between the two groups. I’m sure the younger wolves were having a difficult time deciding which group to stay with. It was getting close to the time where the pregnant wolves dig their dens. After the pups are born in two separate areas the packs will become distinct and one or both will be renamed.
